Matt Tobolski, Ph.D., S.E. is the President and CEO of Tobolski Watkins Engineering, Inc., a specialty structural and earthquake engineering and blast consulting firm serving the healthcare, nuclear, life sciences, government and heavy industrial markets with offices in San Diego, CA, Oakland, CA and Bend, OR. He is also the President of TRU Compliance, LLC, a product certification agency focused on turnkey special seismic certification, wind certification and blast certification for nonstructural systems and components. Matt is a recognized expert in special seismic certification of nonstructural components having managed hundreds of certification programs which has resulted in over 500 tested systems leading to over 10,000 certified components. He is active in code development through the ASCE 7 Seismic Subcommittee and task committees on nonstructural components and nonbuilding structures as well as ASCE 4 and 43 for nuclear systems. Matt received his Ph.D. from the University of California San Diego and BS from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
