This IAEI (International Association of Electrical Inspectors) and ICC (International Code Council) Renewable Energy Course is presented in a video format by Pete Jackson, a nationally recognized expert on renewable energy systems. Four modules are included in the course, each approximately one hour in length. Designers, installers and inspectors will greatly benefit from this course, as well as anyone involved in the building construction, building safety and renewable energy industry. The course is based on the 2020 National Electrical Code, and 2021 editions of the International Residential Code, International Building Code and International Fire Code.

Various systems and components of renewable energy as well as related code provisions are presented and discussed in detail for the best learning experience. Residential, commercial and large scale Photovoltaic (PV) systems as well as Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and Wind Electrical Systems (Turbine) are covered, addressing interconnected systems, definitions, concepts, PV cells, PV modules, rapid shutdown and all other aspects of renewable energy systems that impact fire and life safety, electrical safety and structural safety. The video format and extensive photos, illustrations and easy to understand presentation, make this one of the best renewable energy classes available. Individuals who complete this renewable energy class may choose to become an ICC/IAEI Credential of Learning Achievement (CLA) holder by purchasing and passing the one-hour Renewable Energy CLA Assessment.

Credential of Learning Achievement (CLA). Once completed, this course can be applied towards a Credential of Learning Achievement. The CLA goes beyond traditional training in its measurement of comprehension on the subject matter. It validates the participants willingness to go the extra mile in training and career advancement. The CLA differs from Code Council certifications and education because there is the required components of training/education and assessment on a specific subject matter, it is a different method of obtaining a valuable ICC Credential based on training and testing. If you are interested in applying this course to the CLA program, go to your myICC and select Credentials in the left menu, then click the CLA tab.
