This Guide is the result of a collaborative effort by the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) and International Code Council (ICC) to address the complex fire protection challenges of very tall buildings.
It provides information on the special topics that affect the fire safety performance of very tall buildings and their occupants during a fire. The special topics are addressed as part of the overall building design process using performance-based fire protection engineering concepts and can be applied internationally and complement the adopted building and fire codes.
Engineers, architects, building officials, contractors, and other professionals involved in the construction of new tall buildings as well as those involved in renovation and alteration of existing tall buildings will benefit from this guide.
