This presentation will introduce you to the backflow requirements that are included in the IPC. It will address the needs of code officials, contractors, installers, and plumber. The seminar will include information regarding the requirements for protecting the potable water supply from contamination. This course reviews the essentials of cross-connection control. The course will focus on the basics hydraulics which governs the principles of backflow and cross-connection control and the hazards of backflow and typical backflow prevention assemblies. The causes of backflow and case histories will also be discussed. The information presented is based on the 2021 International Plumbing Code.
