This course introduces the 2020 edition of the ICC 600 Standard for Residential Construction in High Wind Regions which is referenced by the 2024 I-Codes. The 2020 ICC 600 specifies prescriptive methods for residential construction, Group R-2 and R-3 buildings, to provide wind resistant designs and construction details for residential buildings of masonry, concrete, wood-framed or cold-formed steel framed construction sited in high-wind regions where design wind speeds are 120 to 180 mph. This course begins by providing an overview of the code provisions found within the 2024 IBC that establish when and where the prescriptive measures of the ICC 600 apply. This course then goes on to provide an overview of the key provisions and requirements within the ICC 600.
