We will explore water reuse in the built environment during this Learn Live event. Industry experts and ICC partners including as the U.S. Department of Environmental Protection (EPA), National Blue-Ribbon Commission (NBRC), WateReuse Association, and manufacturers of onsite water reuse systems will present on behalf of their organizations on the current state of water reuse policy in the U.S., along with the latest on industry innovations and a preview of the code change proposals from ICC’s Water Reuse Working Group for the 2027 International Plumbing Code (IPC) and International Residential Code (IRC).

  • Discuss NBRC efforts to make water reuse as a viable option for sustainability and conservation.
  • Review the EPA’s Water Reuse Action Plan (WRAP), with a focus on Action No. 2.18 (Incorporate Water Quality and Onsite Reuse Research into Codes and Standards for Premise Plumbing).
  • Learn about WateReuse Association updates on laws, policy, funding, and public acceptance of recycled water.
  • Analyze ICC Water Reuse Working Group`s efforts to expand onsite water reuse in the built environment in the 2027 I-Codes.
