The goal of this course is to better equip local building department staff, design professionals, and contractors with the knowledge, skills, and best practices necessary to efficiently apply the construction provisions of the model Energy Conservation code, but more importantly highlight the work-flow efficiency that can be gained by layering code compliance inspections while ensuring site performance and public safety. This course is tailored to allow attendees to identify best practices and examples of inspection practices that incorporate thermal envelope, mechanical equipment, and electrical fixture and control inspections with existing construction verification. The successful attendee will be prepared to navigate the complex needs of inspection to promote site safety, apply appropriate standards of discretion, and identify how to effectively enforce the codes/standards to ensure safe and efficient buildings.
