Objectives
  • Review the importance of dependable hot water, common water heater installation challenges, and the most significant water heater requirements in Chapter 5 of the International Plumbing Code.
  • Review basic installation requirements for gas-fired appliances, restrictions on cutting and notching wood framing, requirements for CSST gas piping, and applicable Colorado state code amendments.
  • Review the importance of safe drinking water, define cross-connection, and examine code requirements for cross-connection control, including applicable Colorado state requirements.
  • Review the most frequently cited OSHA violations in construction, the concept of professional situational awareness, its application to jobsite scenarios, and the OSHA standards most relevant to common safety violations.
