AC43 establishes guidelines for evaluation of steel deck floor and roof systems consisting of steel deck panels attached to steel, wood or concrete supports, with or without a concrete fill placed on top of the steel deck panels, where the concrete is structural normal-weight concrete, structural lightweight concrete or insulating concrete. This acceptance criteria is applicable to systems using power-actuated fasteners, tapping screws, welds, button punches or proprietary panel-to-panel mechanical connections such as clinch connections, and may include accessories, such as devices used to transfer shear forces at diaphragm boundaries.
