AC271 establishes guidelines for evaluation of rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVC) foam plastic, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or galvanized steel gypsum board supports, used as alternatives to solid wood or metal framing for the attachment of the edges/ends of gypsum board.
