AC261 establishes guidelines for evaluation of connectors, including bypass clip connectors, used with cold-formed steel structural members where the composition or configuration of elements, assemblies, connections, or details of cold-formed steel structural members is such that calculations in accordance with the provisions of the code are insufficient to establish the structural capacities of the connectors.
