AC120 establishes guidelines for evaluation of alternative fasteners used in wood-frame diaphragms, shear walls and braced walls. This criteria is applicable to fasteners which are alternatives to the code-prescribed nails for horizontal wood diaphragms, wood shear walls, and braced walls consisting of wood structural panels that are applied directly to sawn lumber wood framing.
