The commercial building inspector test academy is designed to assist you with taking the B2 Certification Exam. The test academy will cover in detail the topics of the exam. Throughout the academy you will be given an opportunity to answer questions that reference the exam resources. The topics that will be covered: general administration; building planning; footings and foundation; floor construction; wall construction and coverings; roof/ceiling construction and public safety and special construction of the commercial building inspector certification exam. An exam voucher will be issued upon completion of the Academy.
The exam is open book and candidates may use references during the exam. It is mandatory that each participant have the referenced noted as Required for the training:

  • Required - 2024 International Building Code® (IBC®):
  • Required - ACI 318-19: Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete and Commentary or Concrete Manual: Based on the 2015 IBC and ACI 318-19

Objectives
  • Apply effective certification exam study skills to assist participants while taking the Certification Exam within the allotted time frame.
  • Utilize and fluently navigate through the International Building Code and either the ACI 318-14 or the Concrete Manual, to successfully answer exam questions within a maximum of two minutes for each question.
  • Identify and discuss the B2 exam topics and locate specific information in the exam references to correctly answer questions pertaining to the B2 exam topics, including: General Administration, Building Planning, Footings and Special Foundations, Floor Construction, Wall Construction and Coverings, Roof/Ceiling Construction and Public Safety and Special Construction Deploy test preparation strategies with confidence and skill to take the certification exam with without anxiety and be successful.
