2024 Code Enforcement Technician - CE-T Study Guide (Online Self-Paced)

The Code Enforcement Technician is the administrative backbone and public-facing first point of contact for a Code Enforcement/Community Standards Division. This entry-level position is responsible for providing exceptional external and interdepartmental customer service, processing case information, and supporting the field team to ensure efficient and effective operations. The Code Enforcement Technician role is foundational for individuals seeking a career in public service, offering direct insight into municipal codes and community relations. This online, self-paced study guide provides information on ICC certification exams and how to prepare for them, along with practice items in the likeness of what`s on the 2024 CE-T Exam, which pertains to the relevant job tasks of a Code Enforcement Technician. And, as a bonus, this course provides sets of flash cards (optional) to quiz participants on the materials referenced on the exam and a checklist of exam-prep tasks (also optional) for participants to complete before sitting for the exam.

Participants are first presented with the Course Overview, which they must complete before going through ICC Certification and Study Skills and the exam-prep items in the following two modules:

• Practice Questions: 50 multiple-choice items in the likeness of what’s on the certification exam. Feedback and references are provided after each item is attempted. Participants must attempt all items to receive credit (untimed).


• Timed Exam: 15 randomized multiple-choice items from a bank of 100 items, also in the likeness of what`s on the certification exam. Feedback and references are provided when answers are submitted for scoring. For each attempt, participants are given a different combination of items. And participants must pass at least one of their attempts with a 75% or higher to receive credit and complete this course (timed: 45 minutes).
