2024 Code Enforcement Officer - CE-O Study Guide (Self-Paced)

The Code Enforcement Officer is a uniformed field professional dedicated to fostering safe, healthy, and attractive communities. This mid-level role works collaboratively with residents, property and business owners to achieve voluntary compliance with municipal codes through education, inspection, and, when necessary, formal enforcement action. The Officer balances the roles of educator, mediator, and inspector to preserve and enhance the quality of life within the community. This online, self-paced study guide provides information on ICC certification exams and how to prepare for them, along with practice items in the likeness of what`s on the 2024 CT-O Code Enforcement Officer Exam, which pertain to the relevant job tasks of a Code Enforcement Officer. And, as a bonus, this course provides sets of flash cards (optional) to quiz participants on the materials referenced on the exam and a checklist of exam-prep tasks (also optional) for participants to complete before sitting for the exam.

Participants are first presented with the Course Overview, which they must complete before going through ICC Certification and Study Skills and the exam-prep items in the following two modules:

• Practice Questions: 50 multiple-choice items in the likeness of what’s on the certification exam. Feedback and references are provided after each item is attempted. Participants must attempt all items to receive credit (untimed).


• Timed Exam: 25 randomized multiple-choice items from a bank of 100 items, also in the likeness of what`s on the certification exam. Feedback and references are provided when answers are submitted for scoring. For each attempt, participants are given a different combination of items. And participants must pass at least one of their attempts with a 75% or higher to receive credit and complete this course (timed: 1.25 hours).
