The use of off-site construction is growing as the building industry works to address key challenges of affordability, sustainability, quality and a limited workforce. ICC/MBI Standards 1200 and 1205 address off-site construction, providing requirements for the planning, design, fabrication and assembly, and inspection and regulatory compliance respectively. The standards cover all off-site construction types including volumetric modular and panelized systems with the exception of manufactured housing. This course walks through the content of the standards providing a review of the technical requirements including the roles and responsibilities of designers, manufacturers, code officials and third-party plan review and inspection agencies.

Credential of Learning Achievement This course can be applied towards the Credential of Learning Achievement (CLA) in Off-site Construction. The CLA in Off-site Construction is a means for individuals to be recognized for their knowledge through comprehensive training activities and successful completion of an assessment. Through achieving this CLA, Off-site Construction, individuals should be able to apply their knowledge and skills to applicable Off-site Construction codes and standards enforcement of modular and Off-site projects. The assessment for this CLA is offered through Proctored Remote Online Testing Option (PRONTO).
