This class provides a comprehensive explanation of the 2021 International Residential Code® (IRC®) Wood Wall bracing requirements. The seminar will focus on code requirements and application to design while clarifying the application of wall bracing provisions in the IRC wall bracing Sections R602.10 thru R602.12. This is a basic course covering all applicable provisions, an intermediate course specializing in high wind or seismic concerns, or advanced course dealing with gray areas of wall bracing and related requirements for the roof and foundation. Participants will successfully apply the provisions of the 2021 IRC to case studies involving bracing requirements for wood-framed residential structures in their region.

The following publications are included/recommended to ensure success in the course:
  • Recommended - A Guide to the 2018 IRC® Wood Wall Bracing Provisions + Free Digital 2021 Supplement
