Allan is a Senior Staff Architect with the International Code Council (ICC). His primary responsibilities are related to green and sustainable building, serving as Secretariat in the development of the International Green Building Code and ICC Staff Liaison in the development of the ICC 700 National Green Building Standard. He also manages the green and sustainable building related portions of the ICC website, including the Green Building Community of Interest, and speaks publicly and serves as an instructor for ICC on green and sustainable building related issues. In addition, he has authored various articles, technical papers, books and workbooks on the subject of green and sustainable building. Prior duties at ICC have included rendering code interpretations, performing plan reviews, serving as an instructor and writing commentary and workbooks related to the International Residential Code and the International Building Code. Prior to joining ICC, Allan held the position of design and project architect at various Chicago, Illinois and Northwest Indiana design-build firms.
